Durability
Durability
The durability of road markings can be estimated through two key parameters.
1)weathering resistance 2)wear resistance
Weathering resistance: road markings must have excellent weather resistance against rain, sunlight, and environmental conditions. Combined with the climate diversity and road characteristics, the ratio of the raw materials of the paint can be adjusted to adapt to different climate conditions and can be used in different seasons. Durability should correspond to the expected value of the use time of the marking. If the road marking is set to be applied once every two years, the best marking paint should be mostly peeled off after about two years.
Wear resistance: the car's progress is entirely dependent on the friction between the wheel and the ground, and this friction has high requirements on the marking line. The pavement situation in the country is relatively complicated. Hard pavements, metal wheels and sand and buck on the road's surface have high requirements on the wear resistance of the road marking. For abrasion resistance, some standard requires a weight loss of 200 rmp/1kg ≤ 50mg, while the others (JLS) requires 100 rmp/1kg weight loss ≤ 200 mg. Of course, visibility can be guaranteed as long as the wear resistance is within the specified range and the specified period.
The R&D Unit of VISTA SHIMI KIMIA designs and develops unique resins for these issues, fulfilling the requirements of strict international standards.
